Introduction

ILR was conceived and established by two experienced sector professionals to provide solutions to the high demand for skilled, experienced and safe T&D operatives in UK & Ireland.

We have more than 100 fully assessed, vetted, interviewed and qualified LV/MV Distribution Lines Candidates available now. We are targeting the extensive talent pool of Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia & Zimbabwe and have already undertaken assessment missions to be able to offer these candidates and have additional assessment missions planned to further add HV Transmission Tower, Substation & Senior Authorised Persons / Operatives specialists to our available, capable and enthusiastic resources.

To demonstrate their capabilities, we have Candidate Packs for each containing their CV’s and video packages so that you can be assured of their pole climbing, technical interviews and fluency in English.

Managing Partners Simon Matthews and Darrell Boyd have over 30 years combined experience living and working in Africa and have built several 1,000’s of kilometres of LV up to 400KV lines and dozens of substations during their careers. We have an extensive network of local partners and utility company contacts within each country, including Embassy / High Commissions in each, that we source Candidates from.

We undertake extensive missions to fully assess Candidates before they are offered to UK & Ireland utility and contracting companies such as yourselves. You can therefore be assured of securing quality resources who are trained, qualified, experienced and safe working in their fields of expertise.

We undertake extensive and lengthy assessment visits (fully at our cost) to ensure that Candidates offered up are suitable to work in UK & Ireland. We can also offer the following add-on services:

  • Handling Work & Residence Permit and Visa Processes

  • Work & Residence Permit and Visa Application Support & Advice

  • Bespoke Training Courses in home country, for single Candidates or at scale, concurrent to their Permits & Visas being processed, to save you the time and cost-to-company. This saves you having to run them upon arrival in UK or Ireland and can include:

    • Company Inductions

    • Company Specific Safety & Quality requirements

    • Utility Client Specific Network Requirements

    • Client Specific Safety Intensive Courses

    • Cultural Awareness & Cultural Sensitivity Programs

    • Manual Handling

    • Pole Top Rescue

    • First Aid At Work

    • International Driving License (if not already possessed)

  • Follow-On Support and Soft-Landing Programs to ensure smooth and efficient onboarding

  • Coordination with home country Embassies or High Commissions to sponsor passport & visa support and expediting

  • Requirements that may be unique to your projects

  • All can be offered by our network of Experienced Trainers, or we can support your Trainers to travel to Candidates home countries

  • Climbing Conversion - Swedish to Single Spikes

KEY TERMS

  • 50% refundable if Candidate’s employment ends within one month of arrival in UK or Ireland; or an equivalent replacement Candidate without any additional Fees being charged

  • Payment Terms against Milestones

  • Candidate Flights & Accommodation Costs are to your Company

  • Candidate Employment Contracts are with your Company

  • Client is the Sponsor for Candidate Work & Residence Permit and Visa purposes. ILR can handle end-to-end Services & Advice as an Add-on
